I’ve added SPRUCE LANE FARM, BRONTE to the Acrylics gallery on my website. This acrylic on canvas is based on a farm located at Bronte Creek Provincial Park in Ontario. The farmhouse dates to 1899. Have a look at my other acrylics on canvas by clicking here.

…. a playful, colourful treatment of what is often rather proscribed subject matter–barns and farm scenes. It is a dance for the eye.

Thanks, Lance. In ‘Just Looking: Essays on Art’ John Updike wrote about the endless paintings of stone barns and peonies at a local annual art exhibition when he was young. It wasn’t a compliment. Still, I love farms and barns and continue to paint them the way I see and feel them.
