Spring Tuesday Watercolour Class – Week Six

Still LIfe - SpringTuesWk6/2014

Simple, solid forms! I used a 3/4 ” flat angled brush and a ‘planar’ approach with my demonstrations. Broad strokes of the pencil were used to place the shapes. The process was from light to dark. A bit wild and wonky but it’s fun.

Having said that, I didn’t insist that the students use flat angled brushes. Some did and some chose to use their traditional rounds. Interestingly enough, a few used the flat angled brush but didn’t follow the swatch-like approach of my demos. It gave their work a different look and it gave them a good learning experience.
