Tuesday Watercolour Class – Week Eight

The big storm made an impact on the Toronto area but we were very fortunate compared to the east coast of the States. I hope our artblog friends such as Carol King aren’t too waterlogged and get their lives back to normal soon.

Now, to yesterday’s watercolour classes. The answer is no. I didn’t empty all of these bottles on my own. I did, however, paint the two demonstrations shown below. Watercolour sketches, really. I changed some of the colours, re-arranged a few of the bottles and let some of the washes run together.

Bottles are one of our most familiar shapes. Even a simple silhouette is recognizable as a bottle. So why not relax and have some fun with them? The Tuesday morning and evening classes definitely got into the spirit of things and made some exciting watercolours, all inspired by our still-life of bottles.

NOTE: No bottles were emptied during the production of these paintings.
