Tuesday Watercolour Class – Week Seven

Happy Valentine’s Day (yesterday)! Maybe I’m not much of a romantic but, given the occasion, I thought dried roses made a very nice subject. Also, every student received a Valentine’s card from the teacher.

I’ve used this still-life before and it always seems to terrify the students when they first see it. After a demonstration/discussion and some time devoted to thumbnail sketches, most become more intrigued than intimidated and settle down to some thoughtful watercolour painting.

Amazing. Those flowers would be hard to draw. Sorry I missed the class.

That drawing has a very “modern’ feel to it. It’s great.
