Toronto Outdoor Week – Day Two

Today’s venue was Ward’s Island, the easternmost of the Toronto Islands. The islands are a fifteen-minute ferry ride from the downtown skyscrapers. Most of the islands are parkland but Ward’s has a cottage-like community of homes.

I did a demonstration/discussion of water and reflections, a very challenging subject, in the morning. Later, I went back to basics and presented a value study in sepia. You can see my actual scene below and three steps of the study.

Still, some of our brave painters tackled the boats and reflections. Tomorrow, we’ll be at Riverdale Farm. Stay tuned.
