Six Degrees of Freedom Exhibition

I promise not to make an announcement every time I sell a painting. Last week, I promoted the Six Degrees of Freedom exhibition with a watercolour titled ARCH, LUCCA.  First of all, I’ll thank Linda for the encouraging comment about the compostion. Secondly, I’m afraid it won’t be in the show as it sold last Saturday. A couple who were in the Lucca workshop a few years ago dropped by my studio and left with the painting.

Here’s another sneak preview on the left. This watercolour is titled MONTECATINI ALTO, TUSCANY and is approx. 20 x 14″ (unframed). We spent a day of painting this classic hilltop village during the same Lucca workshop. It’s on the way to the framer with the rest of the work so lightning may not strike twice.

SIX DEGREES OF FREEDOM takes place at the Etobicoke Civic Centre from April 29 – May 24, 2010. The group is comprised of Biljana Baker, Gary Duncan, Linda Kemp, Doug Purdon, Jack Reck and myself. The six artists work in a variety of media including watercolour, acrylic, and oil. Each artist has been asked to submit twelve works.

All are invited to the Opening Reception which takes place on Sunday, May 2, 2010 from 2 – 4 pm.

It’s fine to announce you’ve sold work. We have to earn a crust somehow. The ‘sold’ work and this one are magnificent. I love the cut shapes you are using.
    Cheers,
    Erin
