Thanks for all of your positive comments from the past few weeks. I’ve been quite busy with trying to learn a new content management system for my website (progress is slow) and planning this year’s painting holidays such as September’s trip to the Puglia region of Italy. I look forward to catching up with your comments and blogs soon.
We worked from the same still-life that I’d set up for the Saturday class. Lots of challenges but everyone seemed to be stimulated by it. That’s me with my demonstration. The students are all behind me. The demonstration isn’t very big, about 8 1/2 x 5″. I worked quickly although it still took over twenty minutes. While painting, I reviewed some of the brush-handling techniques we’ve been focusing on lately. I also discussed some ideas that I’ll return to over the next few weeks.
The classes are three hours long and I’d already taken up some of that time. I suggested that the students zoom in on a small area of the still-life and not do too much. Still, some of them managed to do two paintings in the alloted time.

Strong compositions and powerful color. You must be a happy instructor.
